Stamp Out Hunger - 2011

Servant's Heart volunteers collected food from Garfield Park and Beech Grove Post offices. This is the nation’s largest one-day food collection, which for the past four years has collected over 70-million pounds of non-perishable food items such as canned meats and fish, canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice.

The hunger problem is usually at its most critical during the summer when school breakfast and lunch programs, often the only source of stable nutrition for millions of children, are suspended.

The Garfield Park and Beech Grove Post Offices facilitated the compassion of the community in a big way. The Total food collected for the day was 14,712 pounds.

Servant's Heart volunteers collected the food to be distributed to families in need.
